Short answer

The short version

  • Under its Creator Rewards Program terms, TikTok pays roughly €0.40 to €0.80 per 1,000 views, and only from 10,000 followers.
  • Instagram has no reliable programme paying per reel view in Germany.
  • In brand campaigns, the brand sets the rate per 1,000 views itself. It is usually many times what the platform pays.
  • Which views count is always decisive: watch duration, country and duplicate counting significantly change the result.

The question sounds simple, yet has no single numerical answer. What you receive per 1,000 views depends on who pays. The platform itself pays cents and only allows participation above a certain size. A brand buying your reach works on a different scale.

The short answer

  • TikTok Creator Rewards: publicly reported experiences for Germany are roughly €0.40 to €0.80 per 1,000 views, sometimes significantly lower. TikTok's programme terms determine which views count towards remuneration. According to TikTok, participation requires 10,000 followers and 100,000 views in 30 days.
  • Instagram Reels: no reliable, generally open programme in Germany paying per view.
  • Brand campaign: The brand sets the rate per 1,000 views itself. It is usually many times higher than the platform amount, but a budget cap applies. You see it before accepting.

TikTok Creator Rewards in detail

TikTok itself does not state a fixed rate per 1,000 views, and this is deliberate. The amount comes from a share of advertising revenue distributed across many Creators. It therefore fluctuates with watch duration, viewers' location, interaction and compliance with rules.

According to TikTok, several conditions apply for a video to qualify:

  1. Account sizeAt least 10,000 followers and 100,000 video views in the last 30 days.
  2. Minimum ageAt least 18, registered in an eligible country. Germany is included.
  3. Video lengthLonger than one minute. Short clips, duets, stitches and photo posts do not count.
  4. ViewsOnly views from programme countries count. Views resulting from fraud, paid distribution or inauthentic interaction are excluded.

In practice, someone with 8,000 followers earns exactly zero euros through this programme, regardless of video performance.

Why Instagram rarely pays per view

Instagram has tested and discontinued various bonus programmes. There is currently no permanent, generally open model paying per reel view in Germany. Instagram earnings come from collaborations, affiliate links or own products. Reach is the selling point, not the income source.

Comparison: platform versus brand campaign

Who pays what per 1,000 views, and under which conditions

TikTok Creator RewardsRoughly €0.40 to €0.80, variable10,000 followers, 100,000 views in 30 days, video over 1 minuteNo fixed cap, but a variable rate
Instagram ReelsNo reliable rate in GermanyNot applicableNot applicable
Brand campaign through contentmarktSet by the brand, usually many times the platform amountNo stated minimum size; the campaign must suit youCap visible in advance for each campaign
Flat-fee collaborationEffective rate depends on the resultNegotiableAmount fixed, regardless of reach

The third row is the real difference. A brand buying reach pays instead of the platform and therefore needs no follower threshold. For brands, contentmarkt acts as the Your brand. The next step. For you, this means a rate per 1,000 views visible in advance rather than a variable platform amount.

Example calculation by reach

The left column uses €0.60 per 1,000, a mid-range reported experience for the TikTok programme. The right column shows how the same post works in a brand campaign: for “Rate”, enter the amount the campaign displays before you accept.

What the same reach earns through the TikTok programme and a brand campaign
ViewsTikTok programme, approx. €0.60 per 1,000Brand campaign, before platform fee
5.000€3.00Rate × 5
20.000€12.00Rate × 20
100.000€60.00Rate × 100
500.000€300.00Rate × 500

The comparison is already striking because a campaign rate per 1,000 views is usually many times €0.60. Three qualifications apply. First, campaign earnings are capped once the budget is exhausted. Second, the 5,000 views in the first row are ineligible for the TikTok programme anyway because the follower threshold comes first. Third, the campaign rate is before the platform fee: if contentmarkt retains 18% at payout, you receive 82% of it.

Which views count towards remuneration

The rate alone says little. What matters is which views count at all. TikTok excludes, among other things, views outside programme countries and inauthentic interaction.

At contentmarkt, the campaign snapshot defines what counts. This includes minimum watch duration, a deduplication time window and a geographic target region; Germany, Austria and Switzerland are the default. These details are fixed before participation, and later changes apply only to future submissions. A 7-day review period follows to determine which views count towards remuneration; settlement uses the lower count.

Before a reduction takes effect, you receive a clear explanation identifying the affected views and an escalation process. contentmarkt, not you, bears the burden of proving fraudulent views.

What this means for you

Below 10,000 followers, the TikTok programme is not an option, and Instagram does not pay per view in Germany anyway. The only route making your views worth money then is through brands buying reach. The rate is higher there, but the cap is real.

If you are well above the threshold, combining approaches is worthwhile. The platform programme runs alongside campaigns, which provide the larger share, and you decide for each campaign whether the brand suits your profile.

FAQ

Common questions

How much does TikTok pay per 1,000 views in Germany?

Publicly reported experiences for Germany's Creator Rewards Program are roughly €0.40 to €0.80 per 1,000 views, sometimes significantly lower. TikTok's programme terms determine which views count towards remuneration. TikTok itself states no fixed rate because it depends on watch duration, viewers' location, interaction and compliance with rules.

Does Instagram pay for reel views?

Not reliably. Instagram has no permanent, generally open programme paying per view in Germany. Income there primarily comes through brand collaborations, affiliate links and own products.

Which views count towards remuneration?

A view meeting defined criteria. At TikTok, these include minimum watch duration and origin in a programme country. At contentmarkt, the campaign snapshot defines minimum watch duration, deduplication window and geographic target region; Germany, Austria and Switzerland are the default.

Why do brands pay more than the platform?

The platform distributes a share of its advertising revenue across many Creators. A brand, by contrast, specifically buys reach in a suitable community and compares the price with advertising media costs. Campaign rates per 1,000 views are therefore typically many times higher.
